Meet Al and Barbara

Meet Al and Barbara.....Al and Barbara founded Wood You Furniture in Jacksonville, Florida in 1977. Being newlyweds and in need of new furniture, they became discouraged with the lack of quality and the high prices of what they found in finished furniture stores. Al was very handy with woodworking tools and built several items for their home and Barbara applied the finish. As friends saw these items, they began to request the two of them to build items for their homes. Word quickly spread and now more than 30 years later there are Wood You stores throughout the southeast.
Al, a native of Opelika, longed to move back to the Auburn/Opelika area. In 1991, Al, Barbara and their children moved to Auburn and in 1995 opened a Wood You store in Opelika. This store operated in a mere 3700 sq. foot location. Their three children, that were still living at home, all worked in the store on weekends and after school and today are all employed full time by Wood You. The Lord has blessed Al and Barbara with the ability to do what they love and the joy of seeing their children share in the joy. They have instilled in each of their children the passion to treat customers as friends and to strive to always exceed the customer's expectations. This philosophy has blessed the Opelika store and loyal customer demand created a need for a larger showroom. Today, the Opelika store operates out of a 10,000 sq. foot designer decorated location. Come by and meet Daniel, Al and Barbara's son in law who manages the day to day operations for them. He's one big Notre Dame fan in a town full of Auburn Tigers.
